Purdue Basketball Player Smith Big Ten Player Of The Week

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Purdue junior point guard Smith has been named the Big Ten Player of the Week for the first time in his career, the league announced Monday. The honor comes after Smith’s standout performances in three consecutive victories over Toledo, Minnesota, and Northwestern.

Smith averaged 25 points, 9.7 assists, and 5.3 rebounds per game during the week, showcasing his all-around skills. He shot 49.1% from the field and 43.8% from beyond the arc, cementing his status as one of the conference’s top players.

In Purdue’s win over Toledo, Smith recorded a double-double with 28 points and 10 assists. He followed that with another double-double against Minnesota, tallying 25 points and 11 assists. Against Northwestern, Smith contributed 22 points, 7 assists, and 6 rebounds to secure the Boilermakers’ third straight win.
