Rafael Campos Butterfield Bermuda Championship Victory

Rafael Campos has achieved a milestone in his golfing career by securing his first PGA Tour victory at the 2024 Butterfield Bermuda Championship. This win came in a dramatic and emotional week for Campos, who had recently become a father. His wife, Stephanie Casanova, gave birth to their first child just a week before the tournament[4][5].

Campos, a 36-year-old Puerto Rican golfer, shot a 3-under 68 in the final round to finish at 19-under par, winning the tournament by three strokes over Andrew Novak. This victory marked his first win on the PGA Tour after 80 career starts and only his second professional win overall[1][4].

The win was particularly significant for Campos, who had been struggling with his form, having missed 13 cuts in his last 15 starts. He entered the week at 147th in the FedEx Cup standings but jumped to 80th after his victory. This win also secured him a two-year exemption on the PGA Tour and invitations to major tournaments including the 2025 Masters, THE PLAYERS Championship, and the PGA Championship[2][4].

Campos’s emotional victory was celebrated with tears and a champagne dousing by his fellow golfers. He expressed his gratitude and disbelief at the turn of events, calling it the “best week of my life”[4].

This victory makes Campos the 14th first-time winner on the PGA Tour this season and the third during the FedEx Cup Fall. He also joins Chi Chi Rodriguez as the only other Puerto Rican to win on the PGA Tour[2][4][5].
