A.R. Rahman Reveals Disqualification of ‘Aadujeevitham’ from Grammy Consideration
A.R. Rahman, the renowned music composer, has disclosed that the soundtrack of the film ‘Aadujeevitham‘, directed by Blessy and featuring actor Prithviraj, was submitted for Grammy consideration but was later disqualified. Rahman shared this information in a recent interview with a media outlet.
According to Rahman, the Grammy Awards, like the Oscars, have numerous criteria that need strict adherence for a submission to be considered for a nomination. Unfortunately, the ‘Aadujeevitham’ soundtrack was rejected because the music piece fell short of the required length by one minute, as specified by the Grammy guidelines.
“There are so many guidelines for the Grammy and Oscar Awards,” Rahman stated. “Only if all these guidelines are followed to the letter, can one expect to be considered for an award. The ‘Aadujeevitham’ soundtrack was submitted for the Grammy, but due to its one-minute deficiency in length, it was disqualified.”
In previous years, Rahman had planned to submit the soundtracks of both parts of ‘Ponniyin Selvan‘ for Oscar and Grammy consideration. However, he faced difficulties that led him to withdraw from these decisions. “You can only proceed when all the conditions are favorable,” Rahman explained.
Rahman also mentioned that he has recently worked on the music for the film ‘Rayan‘, starring Dhanush, and has upcoming projects including ‘Chava‘, ‘Thug Life‘, and ‘Gandhi Talks‘.
