Alex Cappa Las Vegas Raiders Signing Press Conference

HENDERSON, Nev. – The Las Vegas Raiders have officially signed guard Alex Cappa, the team announced on Wednesday. Cappa, a 6-foot-6, 312-pound offensive lineman, joins the Raiders after spending the last three seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals, where he started 50 games.

During his tenure with the Bengals, from 2022 to 2024, Cappa contributed to an offense that ranked highly in various metrics, including sixth in the NFL in scoring with 24.2 points per game and second in passing yards with an average of 255.5 yards per game.

Cappa’s experience spans over 102 regular season games, coupled with three postseason appearances. Notably, he ranks second in the NFL in total offensive snaps played since 2020, showcasing his durability and consistency on the field. The Raiders’ offensive line now features five players standing at least 6-foot-6, with Cappa joining Kolton Miller (6-foot-8), Dalton Wagner (6-foot-8), Andrus Peat (6-foot-7), and Thayer Munford Jr. (6-foot-6).

General Manager John Spytek, who drafted Cappa in the third round (94th overall) for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2018, noted the significance of this signing. “Alex brings not just size but experience and a winning mentality that we’re looking to instill in our locker room,” Spytek said.

Cappa has a proven track record of success, having played on teams with winning records for five consecutive seasons, including being part of the 2020 Buccaneers team that claimed victory in Super Bowl LV against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Originally hailing from Dublin, California, Cappa attended Humboldt State University, where he earned accolades as the Great Northwest Athletic Conference’s Offensive Lineman of the Year in each of his four active seasons. He remains the highest draft pick in the history of Humboldt State, marking a significant achievement for the program.

As the Raiders prepare for the upcoming season, integrating Cappa into their offensive scheme will be crucial for enhancing performance. With a strong foundation of experience and a winning pedigree, the team is optimistic about leveraging Cappa’s skill set to improve overall offensive efficiency in 2025.
