Raiders GM Hints at Running Back for Sixth Pick in Draft

Las Vegas, NV – The Raiders’ new general manager, John Spytek, has revealed that the team is likely focusing on a running back with their sixth overall pick in the upcoming NFL Draft. This may impact their initial interest in quarterback Shedeur Sanders, as the team just traded for and extended a veteran running back.
Spytek stated, “I don’t know where we got to a place where we don’t feel like running backs are valued,” emphasizing the importance of the position. He pointed to the success of Saquon Barkley with the Philadelphia Eagles, illustrating how a talented running back can change a team’s fortunes quickly.
After successful performances at Boise State, running back O’Reilly Jeanty has emerged as a strong candidate for the Raiders. He finished his college career with impressive stats, including 2,601 rushing yards and 29 touchdowns in his final season.
Despite focusing on a running back, Spytek did not rule out the possibility of selecting a quarterback. He noted that the team has been interviewing several quarterbacks, which shows they are still considering the most critical position in football.
Spytek’s comments come after the Raiders had brought in Shedeur Sanders for an interview, which could indicate continued interest in his skills, but much hinges on how the draft unfolds.
