Despite another disappointing season for the Las Vegas Raiders, star defensive end Maxx Crosby is expected to remain with the team. Crosby, one of the NFL‘s top pass rushers, has only made the playoffs once since being drafted by the Raiders in 2019. The team’s ongoing struggles have fueled speculation about Crosby’s future, but financial experts predict a lucrative extension is on the horizon.

Michael Ginnitti of Spotrac anticipates the Raiders will offer Crosby a three-year, $100 million extension this offseason. “Crosby should be seeking a new deal this spring, but does it make sense for he and the Raiders to lock in to something significant right now?” Ginnitti said. “It’ll take an aggressive offseason to begin to truly right this ship – but that’s exactly what we’re anticipating here.”

The Raiders are in a strong financial position, with ample cap space to secure Crosby’s future. However, the 27-year-old may seek assurances that the team is moving in a positive direction before committing long-term. Crosby has repeatedly expressed his desire to remain with the Raiders for his entire career, stating he wants to retire as a member of the Silver and Black.

This offseason is critical for the Raiders, who must address numerous roster gaps and make impactful draft selections. Despite falling in the draft order, the team still has an opportunity to acquire a franchise-altering player. Crosby, who played in 12 games before landing on injured reserve this season, recorded 45 tackles, 7.5 sacks, and five passes defended. His performance earned him a fourth consecutive Pro Bowl selection, underscoring his value to the team.

As the Raiders look to rebuild, retaining Crosby remains a top priority. His leadership and on-field production will be essential as the team aims to turn its fortunes around in the coming seasons.
