Maxx Crosby Las Vegas Raiders Contract Extension

HENDERSON, Nev. – The Las Vegas Raiders have secured defensive end Maxx Crosby with a multi-year contract extension, the club announced Wednesday. The new deal is valued at three years and $106.5 million, with $91.5 million guaranteed.

This extension makes Crosby the highest-paid non-quarterback in NFL history based on per-year average salary, surpassing the previous record held by other star players.

Crosby, who was drafted in the fourth round (106th overall) of the 2019 NFL Draft from Eastern Michigan University, has established himself as a key player for the Raiders. Over his six seasons in the league, he has accumulated impressive statistics, including 364 total tackles, 59.5 sacks, and 105 tackles for loss.

Despite facing challenges, including injuries that placed him on injured reserve last December, Crosby has consistently performed at a high level. He led the Raiders in various categories during the 2024 season, including sacks (7.5), tackles for loss (17), quarterback hits (20), and quarterback pressures (35).

“Maxx is a cornerstone of our team, and we are thrilled to have him on board for the foreseeable future,” Raiders head coach Josh McDaniels stated. “His work ethic, enthusiasm, and performance on the field make him invaluable to our program.”

Crosby’s accolades include four consecutive Pro Bowl selections, with career highs reached in 2023 when he recorded 90 total tackles, 23 tackles for loss, and 14.5 sacks. He is ranked first in the NFL among defensive linemen in tackles for loss since 2019.

Previously, in 2021, Crosby started all 17 games and received accolades as the AFC Defensive Player of the Week twice. The 27-year-old also made a significant impact during his rookie year, finishing second in the Associated Press Defensive Rookie of the Year voting.

Entering the final year of his four-year, $3.3 million rookie contract this offseason, his new extension solidifies Crosby’s future with the Raiders and reflects the team’s commitment to bolstering their defensive line.

As the NFL offseason progresses, Crosby’s performance will be crucial as the Raiders aim to make a stronger showing in the league.
