Rajasthan Royals Face Must-Win Match Against Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2025

Guwahati, India – Rajasthan Royals will seek to avoid a third consecutive defeat when they face Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 at Barsapara Stadium on March 30 at 7:30 PM IST.
The Royals’ recent performance has not lived up to expectations, suffering two losses in their first two matches. After a disappointing opener against Sunrisers Hyderabad, where they lost by 44 runs, they followed up with an eight-wicket defeat against Kolkata Knight Riders in a low-scoring affair.
“It’s crucial for us to turn things around,” said Rajasthan skipper Riyan Parag. “We need to play our game and execute our plans right from the start to get our first win of the season.”
Chennai Super Kings, conversely, come into this match looking to reclaim their momentum after a heavy defeat to Royal Challengers Bengaluru, which marked only their second loss to RCB at home in the past 17 years. Prior to that, CSK registered a win against Mumbai Indians in their opening match.
“We’re hoping the slower pitch here in Guwahati will benefit our spin attack,” said Chennai captain Ruturaj Gaikwad. “We need to regroup and put our best foot forward against a strong Rajasthan side.”
The conditions at Barsapara Stadium are known for aiding batting, yet the previous match for the Royals resulted in just 151 runs, showcasing the need for improvement in their batting lineup. “With a good start, we can aim to put up a competitive total,” Parag added.
Chennai’s lineup will depend on key players like MS Dhoni, Shivam Dube, and Ravindra Jadeja to rise to the occasion against a struggling Royals team. The five-time champions have a historic edge over Rajasthan, having won 16 out of their last 29 meetings.
The weather in Guwahati is predicted to be warm, with temperatures ranging from 28 to 30 degrees Celsius.
“Every match counts in this tournament, and we need the support of our fans to push us through this critical phase,” concluded Parag ahead of the highly anticipated matchup.
