Los Angeles Rams Blake Corum Injury 2025

WOODLAND HILLS, Calif. – The Los Angeles Rams made significant roster moves Tuesday, activating a safety from Injured Reserve (IR) and placing rookie running back Blake Corum on IR, ending his season. The safety, who had been sidelined since Sept. 18 with a shoulder injury, was designated for return, using one of the team’s three IR return slots for the playoffs.

Corum suffered a fractured forearm during the Rams’ regular-season finale against the Seattle Seahawks, sidelining him for the postseason. The injury prompted the Rams to open a spot on their 53-man roster by placing Corum on IR. The team also signed veteran running back Royce Freeman to the practice squad and released safety Quindell Johnson from the practice squad.

The Rams’ decision to activate the safety comes as they prepare for their Wild Card playoff game against the Minnesota Vikings at SoFi Stadium next Monday. The game will air at 5 p.m. Pacific Time on ESPN and ABC.

Corum, a former standout at Michigan, was selected in the third round of the 2024 NFL Draft. Despite limited opportunities behind starter Kyren Williams, Corum managed 265 yards from scrimmage on 65 touches during his rookie campaign. His injury leaves Ronnie Rivers as the likely backup to Williams, with Cody Schrader also on the roster.

The Rams’ playoff push now hinges on their ability to adapt to these roster changes. With the safety’s return and the addition of Freeman, the team aims to maintain its momentum heading into the postseason.
