Jalen Ramsey Nfl Trade News

Los Angeles, CA – Jalen Ramsey‘s future remains uncertain as trade talks between the Miami Dolphins and the Los Angeles Rams appear stalled. Rams head coach Sean McVay stated on May 28, 2025, that there have been no “meaningful” discussions regarding Ramsey’s potential return to the team.

Ramsey, 30, is considered one of the top cornerbacks in the league, despite not being named an All-Pro since 2021. In 2024, he recorded 60 tackles, two interceptions, a sack, and 11 passes defended over 17 games. His current contract could become more manageable after June 1, when a significant portion of his cap charge decreases.

McVay expressed admiration for Ramsey, saying, “We love Jalen intimately. There would be some things that we would need to be able to do if that was going to be a direction that we went.” However, he acknowledged the complexities of trading for a player of Ramsey’s caliber, emphasizing, “There’s not a whole lot that I have to offer.”

Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel echoed a similar sentiment, indicating that the situation with Ramsey has not changed and his focus remains on the players currently on the roster. “Quite honestly, zero has changed since the last time I said anything about him,” McDaniel remarked.

Despite the lack of recent dialogue, analysts suggest that Ramsey is a highly sought-after player and may draw more interest as the salary cap situation evolves. ESPN’s Adam Schefter noted that there is more interest in Ramsey across the league “than people realize.”

The Rams currently have several young players in their secondary, including Ahkello Witherspoon and Cobie Durant, and McVay believes his team is equipped to compete without a significant free agency addition this season. Yet, Ramsey’s previous success with the Rams makes the idea of him returning appealing.

As the trade deadline approaches, all eyes will be on what happens with Ramsey, especially after June 1, when his cap charge reduces significantly. The Rams are not closing the door on potential moves but have not made any aggressive efforts yet.
