Ranbir Kapoor's Lost Text Message To Sandeep Reddy Vanga Revealed; Discusses Possibility Of Arjun Reddy Remake

Actor Ranbir Kapoor and director Sandeep Reddy Vanga recently joined forces for their first collaboration in the movie ‘Animal,’ which has been a tremendous success at the box office. However, little did fans know that Ranbir had actually tried to reach out to the director after watching his debut film, ‘Arjun Reddy,’ but had failed to get through. In a recent interview with Dainik Bhasker, Vanga disclosed that he had stopped checking his text messages since the advent of WhatsApp, and Kapoor’s message, which was an SMS, went unnoticed.

Vanga stated, ‘He (Ranbir Kapoor) SMSed me. Ever since WhatsApp has come, the habit of checking SMS has gone. I stopped checking SMS because everyone uses WhatsApp. Ranbir actually showed me the message also I think. Like this, I have missed a lot of people’s messages. Anil ji, Anil Kapoor had also messaged.’

Speaking about the possibility of Ranbir Kapoor being a part of the Hindi remake of ‘Arjun Reddy’ titled ‘Kabir Singh‘ in 2019, Vanga clarified that the actor had firmly declined doing a remake. Thus, it seems there were no chances of their collaboration happening at that time.

Released in 2019, ‘Kabir Singh’ starred Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani in lead roles while ‘Arjun Reddy’ featured Vijay Deverakonda and Shalini Pandey.

‘Animal,’ which premiered in Hindi and Telugu, received an overwhelmingly positive response at the box office. The film, which started streaming on Netflix after its theatrical release on December 7, also stars Rashmika Mandanna, Bobby Deol, and Anil Kapoor in pivotal roles.
