Rangers Complete Series Sweep Against Angels with 4-3 Victory

ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — The Texas Rangers completed a three-game series sweep of the Los Angeles Angels with a 4-3 victory on Thursday night. Right-hander Kumar Rocker earned his first Major League Baseball win, striking out a career-best eight batters over seven innings.
Rocker (1-2) allowed three runs on five hits without issuing a walk, throwing a career-high 78 pitches during the game. This victory marked an extension of the Rangers’ home winning streak to nine games.
“I felt great out there,” said Rocker, reflecting on his performance. “Getting that first win feels amazing, and it’s awesome to do it at home.”
The Rangers displayed their offensive strength with a two-run double from Jonah Heim, while Adolis García hit a solo home run, marking his 15th career home run against the Angels. Corey Seager also celebrated hitting his 100th home run with Texas earlier in the series.
The Angels fell into a slump, losing their fourth consecutive game, and have struggled offensively, managing only four runs throughout the series. Right-hander José Soriano took the loss for the Angels, giving up four runs on eight hits across 4 2/3 innings.
“We need to find ways to score more runs,” said Angels manager Ron Washington. “Every game counts, and we can’t keep playing like this.”
In a pivotal moment during the game, the Angels managed to score twice with two outs in the fifth inning, narrowing the gap to 4-3. However, they could not capitalize on their momentum as a crucial strikeout ended the inning.
“You see what we can do when we put pressure on. We just have to keep that going,” Washington added.
Next, the Rangers will head to face another opponent, while the Angels look to regroup during their upcoming homestand. With the season still in its early stages, both teams aim to improve their standings moving forward.
