Rangers Vs Ross County Scottish Premiership Match

GLASGOW, Scotland — Rangers extended their impressive form with a commanding 4-0 victory over Ross County at Ibrox on Sunday, maintaining their second-place position in the Scottish Premiership. The win comes as the January transfer window nears its close, with manager Philippe Clement hinting at potential squad changes.

Ianis Hagi opened the scoring in the 18th minute, capitalizing on a rebound after Ross County goalkeeper Jordan Amissah spilled a shot from Vaclav Cerny. Hagi doubled the lead seven minutes later with a deflected free-kick that left Amissah stranded. John Souttar added a third before halftime, and James Tavernier sealed the win with a second-half penalty.

“I’m quite happy with the team’s growth,” Clement told BBC Scotland. “You see the evolution of these young players, and it’s exciting to see where they’re going.” The Belgian manager remained tight-lipped about potential transfers, stating, “The board knows what I would be happy with. We’ll see how far we can get.”

For Ross County, the defeat leaves them second-bottom in the league, just five points above St Johnstone. Manager Don Cowie admitted his team struggled after conceding the first goal. “We started well but let the game get away from us,” Cowie said. “We have 13 important games ahead, and the focus is on getting away from 11th spot.”

Rangers’ dominance was evident throughout, with 73.9% possession and 28 shots compared to County’s two. The win marks Rangers’ third consecutive league victory, keeping them within 10 points of leaders Celtic, who also secured a win against Motherwell.

Meanwhile, Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers praised striker Adam Idah, who scored in their 3-0 win over Motherwell. “Adam is a real handful,” Rodgers said. “He’s taken on the task of spearheading our attack with confidence.”

As the transfer deadline approaches, both Rangers and Celtic are expected to make moves to strengthen their squads for the second half of the season.
