Rangers Face Avalanche as Fox Nears 400th Career Game Milestone
DENVER, Colo. — The New York Rangers continue their Western Conference road trip with a matchup against the Colorado Avalanche at Ball Arena on Tuesday night. The game, set for 9:00 PM ET, will be broadcast on MSG Network and ESPN 880 AM radio.
Rangers defenseman Adam Fox is set to play his 400th career game, a milestone that highlights his impressive start in the NHL. Fox, who debuted in the 2019-20 season, has 286 assists and 341 points through 399 games, ranking sixth and 13th, respectively, among defensemen in NHL history. He is also four points away from tying Harry Howell for fifth place on the Rangers’ all-time points list for defensemen.
Artemi Panarin, the Rangers’ leading scorer with 17 goals and 45 points, has been a consistent offensive force. He has recorded points in 29 of 40 games this season and ranks among the NHL’s top players in multi-point games since joining the Rangers in 2019-20. Panarin’s 144 multi-point games are the eighth-most in franchise history.
Vincent Trocheck has been a key contributor for the Rangers, with points in four straight games and 17 points in his last 18 games. He ranks third in the NHL in faceoff percentage (60.0%) and faceoff wins (494) this season. Trocheck is also the only NHL forward averaging at least 16 minutes of even-strength ice time, 3 minutes of power-play ice time, and 2 minutes of shorthanded ice time per game.
Mika Zibanejad is riding a six-game point streak, his longest since April 2024. He is two goals shy of tying Brian Leetch for 10th place on the Rangers’ all-time goals list. When Zibanejad scores, the Rangers have a 7-1-0 record this season.
Goaltender Igor Shesterkin has been a backbone for the Rangers, with 13 wins this season and eight games allowing two or fewer goals in his last 11 starts. Shesterkin’s performance in games with 40 or more saves has been particularly stellar, with a 14-2-1 career record in such contests.
Rookie Will Cuylle has set a career-high with 24 points this season, including 11 goals and 13 assists. His 156 hits lead the team and rank tied for fourth in the NHL. Cuylle’s rapid rise has drawn comparisons to former Rangers standout Alex Kovalev.
The Rangers enter the game looking to build on their recent momentum, while the Avalanche aim to defend their home ice in what promises to be a high-stakes matchup.
