Rangers Hockey Team Practice Session

ANAHEIM, Calif. — With less than three weeks remaining in the NHL regular season, the New York Rangers are focused on securing their playoff position while hoping for the speedy return of forward Matt Rempe.

Matt Rempe has been sidelined with an upper body injury and is classified as ‘week to week’ by the team. The Rangers are set to close out the regular season on April 17 against the Tampa Bay Lightning at Madison Square Garden. Head coach Peter Laviolette expressed optimism about Rempe’s recovery during a practice session ahead of the team’s game against the Anaheim Ducks on Friday.

“I really like the way Matt developed this year,” Laviolette said. “His hands, his game, I think he has taken steps in the right direction.” With only a few games left, the Rangers are eager to have Rempe back on the ice.

“He’s always been able to hit, he’s always been able to fight, but his game just practicing at this level and playing games, he’s kind of solidified his spot,” Laviolette added, emphasizing the positive impact Rempe has had on the team dynamics.

As the playoffs approach, the Rangers aim to build momentum, and the return of key players like Rempe could prove crucial for their performance.
