Rangers Vs Union Saint Gilloise Europa League Match

GLASGOW, Scotland — Rangers aim to build on their recent Premiership victory as they face Union Saint-Gilloise in the Europa League tonight, with former manager Alex McLeish praising the team’s resurgence under Philippe Clement. The Scottish club’s 3-1 win at Dundee United last weekend marked their first away league victory in five attempts, with McLeish highlighting the impact of new forward pairing Hamza Igamane and Cyriel Dessers.

“I really thought there was a purpose about Rangers and a cloud had lifted after all the criticism of their away form,” McLeish told BBC’s Good Morning Scotland. “Clement will demand the same again. Take the performance level, confidence, and rhythm from the Dundee Utd game into this one.”

Rangers are among three British clubs guaranteed to reach at least the Europa League play-offs, alongside Manchester United and Tottenham. United, however, will be without Marcus Rashford, who has been left out of the squad for their match against Romanian side FCSB. Head coach Ruben Amorim emphasized the need for Rashford to “change” before returning to action. “If he changes, we are more than welcome [to include him] — and we need it,” Amorim said.

Meanwhile, Arsenal faces disciplinary action after players surrounded a match official during their Premier League fixture against Wolverhampton Wanderers. The Football Association has charged the club, alleging a failure to ensure proper conduct. Arsenal has until February 3 to respond.

In transfer news, Millwall has agreed to a £1 million deal with Wolves for midfielder Luke Cundle, while Newcastle United confirmed the departure of Miguel Almiron to MLS side Atlanta United. Almiron leaves after six years and 223 appearances, during which he scored 30 goals.

As the Europa League group stage concludes, British clubs will look to secure their positions in the knockout rounds, with Rangers seeking to capitalize on their recent momentum.
