Rangers Sign Oscar Cortes On Loan From Rc Lens

RANGERS Football Club have secured the loan signing of Óscar Cortés from RC Lens, strengthening their squad for the remainder of the season. The talented 20-year-old Colombian winger joins Fabio Silva and Mohamed Diomande as the club’s third January acquisition under the management of Philippe Clement.

Cortés began his career in the youth ranks of Colombian top-flight side Millonarios and quickly made his way to the first team. His impressive performances, including a notable display against Brazilian powerhouse Atletico Mineiro in the Copa Libertadores, caught the attention of Ligue 1 runners-up RC Lens as they prepared for their Champions League campaign.

The young winger made his senior international debut for Colombia against Iraq last summer, showcasing his potential and earning himself a permanent move to RC Lens after being a key player for Millonarios both in Colombia and the Copa Libertadores.

Speaking about joining Rangers, Cortés expressed his pride and excitement, acknowledging the club’s rich history and positive discussions with manager Philippe Clement. He aims to contribute to the team’s aspirations this season and is eagerly looking forward to showcasing his style of play to the fans.

Giving his thoughts on the new signing, Clement expressed his delight and anticipation of Oscar’s impact on the squad. He believes Cortés’ skillset will provide healthy competition in the forward line as they challenge on multiple fronts.

Rangers’ Director of Recruitment, Nils Koppen, emphasized that Cortés had been a target for some time. His pace, goal threat, and technical ability complement the team’s playing style and offer more options on the wing. The club is confident in their ability to further develop Cortés’ talents and elevate his game to the next level.
