Raptors’ Quickley Sidelined with Hip Injury Ahead of Warriors Clash
TORONTO, Canada — Toronto Raptors guard Immanuel Quickley was ruled out of Monday night’s game against the Golden State Warriors due to left hip soreness, further complicating the team’s efforts to build chemistry in their starting lineup.
Head coach Darko Rajaković confirmed the decision pre-game, stating that Quickley’s hip “flared up” Monday morning. The team plans to provide more details on his status Tuesday after further evaluation. Quickley, 25, has been limited to just nine games this season due to prior injuries, including a pelvic issue and a UCL sprain in his right elbow.
“It’s been a challenging season for Immanuel,” Rajaković said. “We want to be cautious and make sure he’s fully healthy before he returns.”
Quickley’s absence leaves a significant gap in the Raptors’ rotation. The team has only had its full starting lineup intact for four games this season. Scottie Barnes and RJ Barrett are expected to share ball-handling duties, while Ochai Agbaji is likely to step into the starting lineup. Jamal Shead, who has recently taken on the role of primary backup point guard, will continue to lead the second unit, and Davion Mitchell could also see increased minutes.
On the Warriors’ side, Golden State is also dealing with injuries. Jonathan Kuminga, Brandin Podziemski, and Gary Payton II are sidelined, while Draymond Green has been downgraded to out due to an illness and back injury.
Tip-off for the game is set for 7:30 p.m. ET at Scotiabank Arena. Quickley, who signed a five-year, $175 million deal with Toronto last July, is averaging 16.2 points and 6.1 assists per game this season.
