Rare Steelers Jerseys Headline NFL’s Super Bowl LIX Auction
NEW ORLEANS, La. – Hunt Auctions, in partnership with the NFL, will host its 17th annual live auction ahead of Super Bowl LIX next month, featuring a rare collection of Pittsburgh Steelers game-used jerseys from the private archive of Timothy Kelley, a Pittsburgh native. The auction, known for attracting bidders worldwide, will also include memorabilia from other NFL legends.
“Each year, the Super Bowl Live Auction draws interest from bidders in this country and abroad,” said David Hunt, President of Hunt Auctions. “The annual auction has previously featured an amazing roster of important football artifacts, with this year’s offering of the Timothy Kelley Collection of Pittsburgh Steelers game-used jerseys ranking among the finest privately held groups of its type.”
The Kelley Collection includes iconic jerseys such as Franco Harris‘ 1981 jersey, Terry Bradshaw‘s 1982 jersey, Jack Lambert‘s 1982 jersey, Jack Ham‘s 1982 jersey, Rocky Bleier’s 1978 jersey, and Lynn Swann’s 1978 jersey. These items are expected to fetch between $30,000 and $100,000 each.
In addition to the Steelers memorabilia, the auction will feature game-used jerseys from NFL stars like Tom Brady, Justin Herbert, Brandon Graham, Rob Gronkowski, and Brian Urlacher. Other highlights include a 2016 Martellus Bennett Super Bowl ring and a 2017 Martellus Bennett AFC Championship ring.
The event not only celebrates football history but also supports charitable causes. “We are always pleased to present this highly anticipated event, which annually generates an impressive related donation to the wonderful charities of the NFL Auction program,” Hunt added.
