Ravens Prepare for 2025 Season with Key Updates and Draft Picks

BALTIMORE, Md. — The Baltimore Ravens are gearing up for the 2025 NFL season, with the release of their schedule set for May 14. Following a disappointing 0-2 start in 2024, the team aims for a stronger beginning this year.
Key players, including safety Kyle Hamilton and first-round draft pick Malaki Starks, are expected to bolster the defense significantly. Starks’ addition is particularly noteworthy, as he can free Hamilton to take on various roles within the defense.
After the rookie minicamp, linebacker Jay Higgins, who signed with the Ravens as an undrafted free agent after going undrafted, expressed gratitude for the chance. “It was a long day,” he said, referring to draft day. “I know I got to go in, prove things. Nothing’s going to be given to me.”
Higgins, a two-time All-American from Iowa, led college football with 171 tackles in 2023, showcasing his capabilities despite concerns about his size and speed pre-draft. He is determined to make a lasting impact with the Ravens.
Additionally, sixth-round pick Tyler Loop made history as the Ravens’ first-drafted kicker, demonstrating impressive skills during practices. Head Coach John Harbaugh praised Loop’s kicking ability, stating, “It was good to see it. It was good to hear it.” Loop remains confident in handling the pressure of being a new kicker in a competitive environment.
As roster changes continue, the Ravens look to leverage their draft class to improve on last year’s performance. With training camps fast approaching, the coaching staff will closely evaluate new talent while planning their strategy against Week 1’s opponent.
