Roger Rosengarten Blocks Myles Garrett Nfl 2024

Baltimore Ravens rookie right tackle Roger Rosengarten delivered a standout performance in Week 18 of the 2024 NFL season, neutralizing Cleveland Browns star Myles Garrett in a dominant 35-10 victory. The win secured the Ravens the AFC North division title and the No. 3 seed in the playoffs.

Rosengarten, a former Washington Huskies standout, faced off against Garrett, the NFL’s reigning Defensive Player of the Year, throughout the game. Despite Garrett’s reputation as one of the league’s most feared pass rushers, he was held to just 2 tackles and 1 tackle for loss. Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson was not sacked once, throwing for 217 yards and 2 touchdowns.

“I’m very proud. It’s a good group, a fun group, and then just all of the things that we went through in the preseason,” said a Ravens offensive lineman, reflecting on the team’s resilience after losing offensive line coach Joe D’Alessandris earlier in the season. “Losing Joe certainly hasn’t been easy, but I think he’d be very proud of us.”

The Ravens’ offensive line also paved the way for a strong rushing attack, accumulating 220 yards and 2 touchdowns on the ground. With the win, Baltimore advanced to the wild card round, where they will face the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Rosengarten’s performance against Garrett highlighted his rapid development as a rookie and solidified his place as one of the Ravens’ most promising young players. The victory capped off a strong regular season for Baltimore, which now looks to make a deep playoff run.
