Arkansas Razorbacks Michigan State Spartans Basketball

East Lansing, Mich. – The #14/15 Arkansas Razorbacks will face off against the #22/21 Michigan State Spartans in a highly anticipated top-25 basketball matchup on Saturday, Nov. 8, at 7 p.m. ET. This game will take place at the Jack Breslin Student Events Center.

Arkansas enters the game with a victory under its belt after defeating Southern Jaguars 109-77 on Nov. 3. Trevon Brazile led the Razorbacks in that game, scoring a career-high 25 points.

The matchup promises to be thrilling, featuring two Hall of Fame coaches: Arkansas’ John Calipari and Michigan State’s Tom Izzo. Calipari, a 2015 inductee, and Izzo, an inductee in 2016, each bring their winning legacies into this contest.

Historically, the teams have faced each other only twice, with both previous games resulting in victories for Michigan State on neutral grounds. In the 1991-92 season, MSU handed Arkansas a defeat as the Razorbacks were ranked #2, and again in the 1995-96 season.

Despite limited meetings between the two teams, Calipari holds a narrow lead over Izzo in their overall head-to-head record, going 3-2. Previously, Calipari coached Memphis, securing a victory against the Spartans in the 2008 Sweet 16.

Razorback freshman Darius Acuff Jr. adds a personal storyline to the game. Acuff won the Michigan Division I state championship in 2023 at the Breslin Center, scoring 19 points in the final.

Fans can catch the game on FOX with Brandon Gaudin and Bill Raftery providing the play-by-play commentary. It will also be available on Sirius/XM satellite radio.
