RCB Aims for First IPL Title in Final Against Punjab Kings

Ahmedabad, India – In a highly anticipated final of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 held at the Narendra Modi Stadium, the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) scored 190 runs after being sent to bat by the Punjab Kings (PBKS) on June 3, 2025.
RCB’s Phil Salt was dismissed early for 16 runs, leaving them at 18. Mayank Agarwal contributed 24 runs before Virat Kohli took charge with a solid 43. Spinner Yuzvendra Chahal struck first for Punjab, taking Agarwal’s wicket as RCB reached 56.
Captain Rajat Patidar, who scored 26 runs, formed a crucial partnership of 40 runs with Kohli for the third wicket. However, RCB struggled after the fall of Kohli at 131 runs. Liam Livingstone (25) and Jitesh Sharma (24) then added crucial runs late in the innings, followed by Romario Shepherd’s explosive 17 off just 9 balls.
Despite this effort, Arshdeep Singh’s impressive bowling led to three wickets as RCB posted a total of 190 runs.
Their lineup included notable players such as Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Josh Hazlewood, and Krunal Pandya, along with emerging talent Suyash Sharma and Rasikh Dar on their bench.
The match is set to be a historic clash as neither RCB nor PBKS has previously won an IPL title. RCB hopes to secure their maiden championship.
Both teams have previously faced challenges in their quest for the trophy, with seven different franchises having lifted the IPL trophy in its 18-season history, including the now-defunct Deccan Chargers.
The IPL has seen a significant turnout and interest this season, culminating in this final match with expectations of high-performance cricket.
As the match drew near, fans eagerly anticipated which team would create history tonight.
