Real Madrid Faces Early Season Struggles Under Ancelotti
Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti has expressed concern over his team’s underwhelming start to the 2024/2025 La Liga season following a 1-1 draw against Las Palmas.
With only five points garnered from their first three matches, Madrid finds itself trailing behind rivals FC Barcelona, who currently enjoy a perfect record with nine points.
In his post-match press conference, Ancelotti acknowledged the team’s poor first-half performance, emphasizing the need for immediate improvement and a more balanced approach. He noted, “We lack balance. We have to find a solution quickly.”
Despite the early struggles, Ancelotti maintained that he has observed aspects of the game that could be improved, viewing these experiences as opportunities for development.
Ancelotti rejected the notion that the team is suffering from mental fatigue, instead attributing the challenges to tactical issues on the field. He emphasized, “The problem is not mental, it is not a lack of character or attitude.”
Looking ahead, Real Madrid is preparing for a crucial match against Real Betis at the Bernabeu, which Ancelotti considers essential if the team hopes to close the gap with Barcelona.
