Central Florida Weather Forecast February 2025

ORLANDO, Fla. — Central Florida is bracing for record-breaking heat on Thursday, February 13, 2025, with afternoon showers and thunderstorms expected. Highs are projected to reach between 88 and 89 degrees Fahrenheit, marking the hottest day of the year and the first time temperatures have soared this high since October.

According to meteorologist Kellianne Klass, the unseasonably warm weather will precede an approaching cold front. “We’re experiencing a real roller coaster of temperatures this week,” Klass noted. “Today, we’re set for extreme heat, but tomorrow will see a significant drop as highs will only reach the middle 70s."

The day will start mild, with the mercury quickly rising as the morning progresses. Isolated showers may begin shortly after lunch, but the bulk of the rainfall is expected around 3 p.m., with up to a 40% chance of rain across the area. Thunderstorms could bring serious gusts, affecting local events like this weekend’s Daytona 500.

Klass cautioned that the timing of the rain could coincide with the racing event, stating, “If the rain holds off until later, we may get some racing in, but as it stands, the timing looks challenging for the Daytona 500 at 2:30 p.m.” Precipitation may linger into the evening.

Friday’s forecast indicates a significant cooldown, with highs expected to be in the middle 70s and cloudy conditions. A few isolated showers along the coast may occur, but much of the day will remain mild.

Looking ahead to the weekend, temperatures are predicted to rise again, with Saturday highs returning to the middle 80s. However, another rain system will bring further showers on Sunday, with uncertainty surrounding its exact timing. Forecast data is mixed regarding whether the rain will impact the Daytona 500 or arrive later in the evening.

By Monday, a notable shift will occur as the cold front pushes through, ushering in cooler temperatures. Highs will drop into the 60s and possibly the lower 70s, while overnight lows are forecasted to fall into the 40s and 50s.
