Detroit Red Wings Vs San Jose Sharks Hockey Game

DETROIT — The Detroit Red Wings will look to extend their season-high winning streak to eight games as they host the San Jose Sharks at Little Caesars Arena on Tuesday night. The game, set for 7 p.m., will be broadcast on FanDuel Sports Network Detroit and the Red Wings Radio Network (97.1 The Ticket). The first 7,500 fans in attendance will receive a Steve Yzerman Stick Case, presented by Coca-Cola Zero Sugar.

The Red Wings (20-18-4; 44 points) are coming off a dominant 6-2 victory over the Seattle Kraken on Sunday, where they scored three power-play goals. Detroit currently boasts the NHL’s second-highest power-play success rate at 28.6%. “We’ve gotten really good at retrieving pucks and attacking off of it,” said Lucas Raymond, who leads the team with 22 power-play points this season.

San Jose (13-26-6; 32 points), last in the Western Conference’s Pacific Division, is looking to snap a three-game losing streak. The Sharks are led by Mikael Granlund, who has 36 points this season, and rookie Macklin Celebrini, who has 29 points. “Tremendous player, obviously,” Red Wings head coach Todd McLellan said of Celebrini. “You don’t go No. 1 overall by accident.”

This marks the second meeting between the teams this season. The Sharks defeated the Red Wings 5-4 in overtime on Nov. 18 in San Jose. Detroit will start goaltender Ville Husso, while San Jose will counter with Alexander Georgiev, who previously shut down the Red Wings in December while playing for the Colorado Avalanche.

Defenseman Jake Walman, who previously played for Detroit, will suit up for the Sharks, adding an emotional subplot to the matchup. The Red Wings are also dealing with injuries, as Jeff Petry remains sidelined and Alex Lyon is nearing a return.
