Reddit Users Report Widespread Outage Amid Ongoing Investigation

SAN FRANCISCO – Reddit experienced significant outages on Monday, with thousands of users reporting accessibility issues on the platform. As of 11:48 a.m. ET, Downdetector, a website tracking online service disruptions, recorded over 62,000 outage reports.
Reports of issues began to surge at around 11 a.m. ET, escalating further to more than 101,000 error reports by 12 p.m. ET. At 11:52 a.m. PT, Reddit acknowledged the situation on X, stating, ‘We are currently investigating elevated errors across reddit.com and the apps.’
The majority of users (59%) indicated trouble accessing the mobile app, while 29% reported issues with the website and 12% cited server connection problems. Despite the influx of error reports, the exact cause of the outage remains unknown.
As downtime led to widespread chatter, many Reddit users turned to alternative social media platforms to voice their frustrations and seek updates about the situation. In a post on its official account, Reddit confirmed, ‘We are currently investigating elevated errors across reddit.com and the apps.’ There is currently no estimated time for resolution.
