Cincinnati Reds Vs St. Louis Cardinals Baseball

CINCINNATI, Ohio – The Cincinnati Reds will host the St. Louis Cardinals in a crucial four-game series beginning Monday night. The Reds, fresh off a four-game winning streak, stand at 15-13, while the Cardinals sit below .500 at 12-16.

The Reds have shown promise early in the season, highlighted by a notable +41 run differential, the best in the National League Central. This series marks a pivotal moment as the Reds seek to solidify their position in the division and capitalize on their recent momentum.

Reds infielder Gavin Lux expressed optimism about the team’s performance. “To finish it out with a sweep, now we need to take that momentum into our homestand,” Lux said following the Reds’ recent victories. He is currently on an 11-game hitting streak, batting .333 for the season.

The Cardinals have faced struggles recently, including a 7-1 loss to the Milwaukee Brewers on Sunday. They have been attempting to navigate a challenging schedule with 11 of their last 14 games on the road. In this series opener, the Cardinals will send right-hander Andre Pallante (2-1, 4.05 ERA) to the mound against Reds pitcher Nick Martinez (0-3, 5.40 ERA).

The series begins Monday, April 28, at 6:40 PM ET at Great American Ball Park, with the Reds looking to maintain their upward trajectory while the Cardinals seek a turnaround.
