Reds Promote Prospect Chase Petty for Major League Debut

CINCINNATI, Ohio — The Cincinnati Reds are set to promote their sixth-ranked prospect, Chase Petty, to make his Major League debut against the St. Louis Cardinals on Wednesday.
Petty announced the news on Instagram, stating, “Go time.” He shared a post from his agent that included an hourglass emoji, signaling the excitement surrounding his call-up.
The 22-year-old has impressed this season with a 3.52 earned run average (ERA) across five starts with Triple-A Louisville. In 23 innings pitched, he has struck out 27 batters, showcasing his potential as a valuable player for the Reds.
In addition to Petty, the Reds will also promote infielder and outfielder Tyler Callihan on Wednesday. The 24-year-old is having a strong season at Triple-A Louisville, hitting .304 with an OPS of .938 in 24 games.
Both players were notably absent from their respective lineups as Petty was scratched from his scheduled start, and Callihan was not seen in the lineup. As of now, the reports of their promotions have not been officially confirmed.
