Reno Aces Baseball Game June 2025

ROUND ROCK, Texas — The Reno Aces defeated the Round Rock Express 6-5 in a close matchup on May 30, 2025. The game saw several key plays that shaped the outcome.

Reno got off to a strong start, scoring twice in the second inning. Catcher Aramis Garcia hit a single, and third baseman Tristin English followed up with a double. Shortstop Nicky Lopez grounded out, bringing Garcia home, before second baseman Andy Weber hit a sacrifice fly to extend the lead to 2-0.

In the third inning, the Aces capitalized on three consecutive walks, and an error from Round Rock’s third baseman, Cody Freeman, helped them push the score to 3-0. Reno continued to dominate, scoring two more runs in the fifth inning to lead 5-0.

Round Rock struggled against Aces pitcher Bryce Jarvis, who held them hitless through six innings, striking out nine batters along the way. The spell was finally broken as Freeman got a single to start the seventh.

As the game progressed, the Aces added to their lead, bringing it to 6-0 with another run scored by English in the eighth inning. However, Round Rock staged a comeback in the ninth, with Michael Helman hitting a two-run home run, closing the gap to 6-5.

Despite their late rally, Round Rock could not clinch the game. Aces pitcher Christian Montes De Oca secured the save, finishing off the final batter. The Aces’ win maintained their strong performance this season.

Cody Freeman shone for Round Rock, going 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run. Freeman has been on a hot streak, leading all batters in this series with a .500 average.

The Express will look to bounce back in their next game against the Aces on May 31, 2025, at Dell Diamond, scheduled for a 7:15 p.m. start.
