The entertainment industry is in mourning as renowned television actress Dolly Sohi has tragically passed away after a prolonged battle with cervical cancer. The actress, known for her roles in popular shows like Jhanak, Meri Aashiqui Tum Se Hi, and Khoob Ladi Mardaani…Jhansi Ki Rani, breathed her last on the morning of March 8.

The family of Dolly Sohi is reeling from a double tragedy as just the night before, her sister, Amandeep Sohi, succumbed to jaundice. The family shared with ETimes TV that they are in a state of shock and will be conducting the final rites for Dolly Sohi this afternoon.

Dolly Sohi, aged 48, was a familiar face in the television industry with a repertoire that included shows like Meri Aashiqui Tum Se Hi and Khoob Ladi Mardaani…Jhansi Ki Rani. Cervical cancer, the disease she battled, is a type of cancer that affects the cells of the cervix, usually attributed to the human papillomavirus (HPV).

The sudden loss of Dolly Sohi came just a day after the demise of her younger sister, Amandeep Sohi, who had been battling jaundice. The family confirmed the consecutive losses, painting a heart-wrenching picture of grief and loss.

Amandeep Sohi also belonged to the entertainment industry, sharing her sister’s passion for acting. Their family has been left devastated by the untimely deaths of both talented women within a short span of time.

Dolly Sohi commenced her television career in 2000 with the serial ‘Kalash’ and went on to capture the audience’s hearts with her performances in various shows like ‘Kamal’, ‘Kusum’, ‘Bhabhi’, ‘Tujh Sang Preet Lagai Sajna’, ‘Hitler Didi’, and ‘Devon Ke Dev… Mahadev’. Her last project, ‘Jhanak’, saw her portraying the character of Srishti Vinayak Mukherjee before she had to halt due to her cancer treatment.

The loss of Dolly Sohi has left a void in the television industry, and her legacy as a talented actress and a courageous fighter against cancer will be cherished by her fans and peers.
