Riley Moss Broncos Cornerback Football

DENVER, Colo. — Riley Moss, cornerback for the Denver Broncos, faces a tough challenge every game, lining up against star players like Pat Surtain II, the 2024 Defensive Player of the Year. Despite being one of the most targeted defensive backs in the league, Moss has managed to hold opponents to a low completion percentage of just 44.4%. This week marks a crucial point in his career as the Broncos prepare for their game against the Las Vegas Raiders.

Entering the Week 9 matchup, Moss faced 63 targets, the most in the league. Despite the pressure, he has shown significant growth as a player. However, his journey has not been without setbacks. Moss missed time early in his rookie season due to a core injury and faced another knee injury that kept him out of several critical games in 2024.

During an appearance on a podcast hosted by Surtain and Lions cornerback Terrion Arnold, Moss reflected on the mental challenges of playing in the NFL. After a particularly tough game against the Bengals, where he struggled against Tee Higgins‘ three touchdowns, he noted how important it was to develop resilience in the face of criticism. ‘It was brutal, but it made me better. Handling the mental part of it became a big lesson for me,’ Moss explained.

As the Broncos locker room continues to foster a mentality of focusing on their craft, quarterback Bo Nix has also shared how he tunes out media noise by avoiding social media altogether. With a record of 8-2, the Broncos are looking to defy skeptics who question their place among top teams following inconsistent offensive performances.

Moss emphasized the importance of maintaining a level head as they prepare to face the Kansas City Chiefs this Sunday. With lessons learned from his struggles, he hopes to lead his team and prove their doubters wrong.
