Jesús Ramos Vs Jeison Rosario Boxing Weigh In

LAS VEGAS, Nevada – Rising super welterweight contender Jesús “Mono” Ramos will face former unified world champion Jeison Rosario in a highly anticipated Latin American clash this Saturday, February 1, at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The fight, part of the pay-per-view undercard for the Benavidez vs. Morrell event, promises to deliver high-stakes action as both fighters aim to prove their worth in the competitive 154-pound division.

Ramos, a 23-year-old southpaw from Casa Grande, Arizona, boasts a record of 21-1-0 with 17 knockouts. His only loss came in a unanimous decision against Erickson Lubin nearly 18 months ago. Since then, Ramos has rebounded with an eighth-round knockout victory over Venezuela’s Johan González in 2024, earning him a top-ten ranking across all major boxing organizations.

Rosario, 29, brings a wealth of experience to the ring, with a record of 24-4-2 and 18 knockouts. The Dominican fighter held the WBA and IBF super welterweight titles in 2020 after knocking out Julian Williams but lost them to Jermall Charlo later that year. Rosario has since alternated between victories and setbacks, including a knockout loss to Brian Mendoza in 2022 and a split-decision draw against Jarrett Hurd in his most recent fight in August 2024.

For Ramos, this fight represents a chance to solidify his status as a top contender. “I have to get the knockout against Rosario, and I have to do it in a spectacular way,” Ramos said. “I’m training for that. Fans can expect to see me with more intensity, angles, head movement, and just good boxing. I’m a veteran in this sport, and they’ll see me placing my punches better and looking for the right shots to finish him quickly.”

Rosario, meanwhile, views the bout as an opportunity to reclaim his place among the elite. “Jesús Ramos is a young and hungry fighter,” Rosario said. “A win here will mean a lot for me because it will show that I can still compete for world titles and be mentioned among the best.”

The fight is scheduled for 10 rounds in the middleweight division, with both fighters weighing in at 159 pounds, just under the 160-pound limit. The event will air live on pay-per-view in the United States and across Latin America on ESPN, starting at 8 p.m. ET (7 p.m. Mexico City, 10 p.m. Argentina).

This matchup is a pivotal moment for both fighters, with Ramos seeking to ascend to championship contention and Rosario aiming to prove he still belongs at the highest level of the sport.
