Colorado Rockies Baseball Game

FLUSHING, New York — The Colorado Rockies are still searching for their elusive 10th win of the season as they face the New York Mets today. Currently, the Rockies hold a record of 9-49 and have struggled on the road, going 3-27. They enter this match after a disappointing 0-5 start to their current road trip, which concludes with a three-game series against the Miami Marlins starting tomorrow.

Despite the unfavorable record, the Rockies have shown signs of improvement. In their last five games, they lost four by two or fewer runs, a marked contrast to some of the earlier defeats this season, including an 8-2 loss just last night.

Carson Palmquist (0-3, 8.78 ERA) is set to pitch for the Rockies this morning. His last outing on Monday saw him giving up two runs over five innings against the Mets, striking out four batters in a 3-1 loss. Fans hope this will be a turning point after he struggled recently at Coors Field.

Opposing Palmquist is Mets right-hander Clay Holmes (5-3, 2.98 ERA). In his previous start against the Atlanta Braves on May 26th, Holmes allowed only one run and struck out three over 5 2/3 innings. While primarily a reliever in his career, he has made 11 starts this season, marking a return to starting after not doing so since 2018.

Holmes has faced the Rockies six times in relief, boasting an impressive 1.17 ERA against them. As the Rockies aim for their 10th win, fans are eager to see if they can pull off an upset against the Mets today.

First pitch is at 11:40 am MDT, and the game will be broadcast on Rockies TV and KOA 850 AM/94.1 FM radio.
