Rockies Set for Final Preseason Showdown Against Brewers

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — The Colorado Rockies will host the Milwaukee Brewers today in their final home game of spring training at Salt River Fields at Talking Stick. The game is scheduled to begin at 1:10 p.m. MDT and will be broadcast on Rockies.TV and KOA 850 AM/94.1 FM, with KNRV 1150 providing Spanish coverage.
This matchup marks a crucial preseason assessment for the Rockies’ pitcher Ryan Feltner, who has been named the starter. Feltner carries a 2-1 record in four spring training appearances with an ERA of 7.25, having recorded 12 strikeouts and nine walks over 9 2/3 innings pitched.
“It’s important for me to refine my mechanics and get into a rhythm ahead of the regular season,” Feltner said. He is looking to improve upon his performances as the team prepares for their Opening Day challenge against the Tampa Bay Rays on Friday.
Opposing Feltner will be Milwaukee’s Nestor Cortes, who holds a 0-1 record and a 6.00 ERA in three spring training outings. Cortes, a left-handed pitcher from Cuba, gained recognition in 2022 when he was named to the American League All-Star Game. He was traded to the Brewers in December and has a career ERA of 3.80 over seven years in Major League Baseball.
As both teams finalize their rosters, Rockies fans are eager to see if Kyle Freeland will substitute in for Feltner. This lineup could be indicative of what to expect for the Rockies on Opening Day.
The Rockies have promoted this matchup on their social media, drawing attention with a tweet that emphasizes the importance of this final tune-up. With anticipation building, both teams are expected to bring their best as they gear up for the regular season.
