Rodney Hood, a veteran NBA swingman, has announced his retirement from professional basketball. The news was confirmed by Hood himself in a statement to ESPN‘s Dave McMenamin on Thursday, November 21, 2024.
Hood spent eight seasons in the NBA, playing for several teams including the Utah Jazz, Cleveland Cavaliers, Portland Trail Blazers, Milwaukee Bucks, and Los Angeles Clippers. His career was marked by his versatility as a 6-8 guard/forward, contributing to various teams in different roles.
After his NBA career, Hood also spent two seasons in the G League, where he continued to showcase his skills and dedication to the sport. Despite facing challenges and making a comeback at various points, Hood has decided to hang up his playing shoes.
