Rohit Sharma Upset During Cricket Match

DUBAI, UAE — India captain Rohit Sharma expressed clear frustration on Sunday after fielder Harshit Rana dropped a catch off Pakistani skipper Mohammad Rizwan during their pivotal Group A match in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.

The incident unfolded on the last ball of the 33rd over, with Pakistan batting first. Rizwan, having built momentum after a century partnership, was now attacking the Indian bowling attack. In an aggressive stroke against Hardik Pandya, Rizwan sent the ball high into the air.

Fielding at mid-wicket, Rana attempted to make a full-stretch dive to secure the catch but ultimately failed to hold on to the ball. Hardik Pandya, visibly upset by the dropped catch, cast a disheartened glance at Rana, reflecting the disappointment within the Indian camp.

Fortunately for India, Rana redeemed himself shortly after when Rizwan was dismissed by Axar Patel, who delivered a crucial breakthrough. Ultimately, India bowled out Pakistan for 241 runs in 49.4 overs. Pakistan’s innings saw Saud Shakeel leading the score with 62 runs off 76 balls, while Rizwan contributed a hard-fought 46 runs from 77 balls during a pivotal third-wicket partnership of 104 runs.

Khushdil Shah also played a role in lifting the score from a precarious position of 165 for 5, scoring 38 runs off 39 balls. On the bowling front for India, Kuldeep Yadav took three wickets for 40 runs, while Hardik Pandya picked up two wickets, dismissing both Babar Azam and Shakeel.

In the final over, Rana showcased his skills by claiming a wicket while maintaining a tight bowling performance, leaving nothing for the batsmen to capitalize on.
