Rolesville Rams Vs Millbrook Wildcats Football

ROLESVILLE, N.C. — In a striking display of dominance, the No. 10 ranked Rolesville Rams secured a commanding 35-0 victory over the previously undefeated Millbrook Wildcats on Friday night. The match, which was anticipated to be a highlight of the Northern Athletic Conference, underscored Rolesville’s offensive prowess, led by quarterback Braden Atkinson.

Braden Atkinson, the prominent figure on the field, threw for 304 yards and four touchdowns, completing 20 of 25 passes. His strategic play helped Rolesville amass 400 yards of offense, in stark contrast to Millbrook’s 110 yards. Atkinson’s exceptional performance included spreading the ball to seven different receivers. “It’s a real emotion that it’s his last year. I hate that he’s got to leave me,” said Rolesville coach Ranier Rackley. “But I’ll stand on the table and stand on this: he’s the best quarterback in the state, regardless of the stars or whatever. He’s the best quarterback in the state.”

The Rams started the game strong with Atkinson connecting with Gavin Waddell for a 21-yard touchdown, capitalizing on a successful two-point conversion to take an early lead. Rolesville’s offensive first half was bolstered by kicker Riley Daniels, who executed two successful onside kicks, securing additional possessions for his team.

After leading 14-0 at halftime, Atkinson continued his assault, linking up with A.J. Roberts and Jaedon Alford for additional touchdowns. The Rams’ defensive strategy also highlighted their robustness, stifling Millbrook’s offense and limiting their total yardage significantly.

Millbrook’s efforts, led by junior running back Brilison McCullers, fell short as McCullers recorded 77 rushing yards but could not break through the Rolesville defense. The Wildcats’ passing game was nearly non-existent, with only 27 passing yards achieved throughout the game.

Rolesville’s final touchdown was scored by Devon Thomas late in the fourth quarter, solidifying their victory. The defeat marks a notable setback for Millbrook, who came into the game undefeated but remains outside the state’s top 25 rankings.

The match showcased Rolesville’s comprehensive gameplay, with contributions across passing, rushing, and special teams, underscoring why they are considered a formidable team in the Northern Athletic Conference this season.
