Ronwen Williams And Patrick Maswanganyi Shine At 2023/24 Psl Awards

At the prestigious 2023/24 PSL Awards ceremony, Orlando Pirates‘ midfielder Patrick Maswanganyi and Mamelodi Sundowns‘ goalkeeper Ronwen Williams emerged as the standout winners. Maswanganyi’s exceptional performance was recognized with three awards, including the DStv Premiership Players’ Player of the Season.

Williams, on the other hand, was honored with the coveted PSL Footballer of the Season award, becoming the first goalkeeper to win it since 2013, alongside clinching the DStv Premiership Goalkeeper of the Season title.

Orlando Pirates’ rising star Relebohile Mofokeng also claimed two significant awards, the DStv Premiership Young Player of the Season and the Nedbank Cup Most Promising Player of the Tournament.

Rhulani Mokwena and Grant Kekana from Mamelodi Sundowns were recognized with the titles of DStv Premiership Coach of the Season and Defender of the Season, respectively.

Tshegofatso Mabasa and Thabiso Lebitso of Orlando Pirates secured the DStv Premiership Top Goal Scorer and Goal of the Season accolades, showcasing their exceptional performance during the season.

Additionally, Devin Titus of Stellenbosch FC, Sipho Chaine of Orlando Pirates, and Prince Nxumalo of JDR Stars were among the recipients of various awards at the ceremony, highlighting the depth of talent in South African football.

In the match officials’ categories, Sikhumbuzo Gasa and Romario Phiri were acknowledged with the Assistant Referee and Referee of the Season awards, respectively, highlighting the crucial role played by officials in ensuring fair play.
