PHOENIX, Ariz. — Rookie Ryan Dunn delivered a standout performance in the Phoenix Suns‘ 120-113 victory over the Charlotte Hornets on Sunday, scoring 11 points, grabbing six rebounds, and adding two assists and one steal in 27 minutes.

Dunn, a first-year player out of Virginia, has started in the Suns’ last six games, during which the team has gone 4-2. This marks the fourth time in that stretch he has scored in double digits, showcasing his growing impact on both ends of the court. Over 18 starts this season, Dunn is averaging 9.2 points, 3.8 rebounds, 0.8 assists, and a combined 1.3 steals and blocks per game.

“He’s been big-time for us,” said Suns guard Tyus Jones, praising Dunn’s defensive presence and physicality. “Just his defensive presence. His physicality.”

Dunn’s recent performances have solidified his role in the Suns’ rotation, particularly as a versatile defender and reliable scorer. His efficiency was on full display Sunday, as he shot 4-of-5 from the field and 3-of-4 from beyond the arc.

The Suns’ win over the Hornets improves their record to 24-18 for the season, keeping them in contention for a playoff spot in the competitive Western Conference. Dunn’s emergence as a key contributor has provided a boost to the team’s depth and defensive intensity.

As the season progresses, Dunn’s development will be crucial for the Suns, who are looking to make a deep playoff run. His ability to contribute in multiple facets of the game has already made him a fan favorite and a player to watch in the NBA’s rookie class.
