Rosslyn Metro Station Undergoes Significant Upgrades and Faces Temporary Disruptions
The Rosslyn Metro Station in Arlington, Virginia, is currently undergoing a major capital project that involves the replacement of its escalators. Starting on January 2, 2024, Metro began replacing the four entrance escalators and four platform escalators at the station. This project is part of an ongoing effort to enhance the reliability and durability of the Metrorail system, with plans to replace over 139 escalators across the system by 2028.
This renovation is expected to continue until June 30, 2026, and will likely cause some disruptions for commuters. Passengers using the Rosslyn Station should be prepared for alternative arrangements, such as using stairs or nearby stations, during the construction period.
In addition to the escalator replacement, the Rosslyn area is also home to several other significant infrastructure and service changes. For instance, the nearby Residence Inn Arlington Rosslyn has recently undergone renovations, offering improved amenities for travelers and being conveniently located near the Rosslyn Metro Station, which provides easy access to major DC attractions and landmarks.
The Metro system in the region is also experiencing other service changes and temporary disruptions. For example, there are planned changes to Metrobus services starting on December 15, 2024, which will affect several routes, including the REX, T14, and T18 lines.
