Russell Westbrook Makes History Styling WNBA Draft Prospect Georgia Amoore

Denver, CO — Russell Westbrook, the Denver Nuggets guard, made headlines this week as he took on an unprecedented role as stylist for Georgia Amoore, a projected first-round pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft. The collaboration marks the first time an NBA player has designed an outfit for a WNBA Draft.
“This has never happened before—no athlete has ever dressed another athlete for a draft, let alone an NBA player designing for a WNBA Draft,” Westbrook told Vogue. “We’re making history right here, breaking down those barriers between men’s and women’s sports.”
The journey started with a Zoom call late last year. Amoore, who had been a fan of Westbrook since his days with the Oklahoma City Thunder, expressed her initial nervousness about meeting the NBA star. “I was freaking out before the Zoom even happened,” said Amoore. The Australian native, who played college basketball at Virginia Tech and transferred to the University of Kentucky for her final eligibility year, described the experience as surreal.
When it came time to design her draft look, Amoore had a clear vision but also left room for Westbrook’s creative input. “I pretty much said I wanted a cropped blazer and a skirt, and from then on, I didn’t know what to expect,” she said.
Westbrook and his team at Honor the Gift settled on a black leather, cropped blazer with white floral embroidery, paired with a matching mini skirt. “We didn’t want to go too crazy, but also wanted to give her a little bit of swagger for one of the biggest moments and nights of her life,” Westbrook said.
A standout piece of the outfit is a T-shirt featuring the phrase “Honor Women,” which Amoore will wear under the blazer. “While Georgia’s draft outfit is this aspirational, one-of-a-kind look, the T-shirts are the attainable element of our collaboration,” Westbrook explained. “They’re how fans can connect with this moment and carry this message forward.”
The message behind the collaboration is deeply personal for Westbrook. “It’s a statement about how I was raised and how I live my life,” he said. “My mom taught me about strength and sacrifice. My wife shows me what true partnership looks like. And now having daughters, I’m even more committed to creating a world that honors and respects women.”
Despite her casual fashion preference, Amoore embraced accessorizing for the draft. “We started piling on the bracelets, and the more you put on, the more you want!” she recalled. Reflecting on her partnership with Westbrook, she expressed gratitude for the opportunity. “Looking back on my life, it’s probably going to be one of the coolest things ever, and I’m just so grateful,” Amoore added. “It’s not a play on words, but it’s an honor.”
The collaboration highlights not only Westbrook’s dual career in basketball and fashion but also a growing alignment between professional men’s and women’s sports. Westbrook’s brand, Honor the Gift, has launched a limited-edition T-shirt to commemorate the moment, with a portion of proceeds going to the organization Play Like a Girl, emphasizing the brand’s commitment to empowerment beyond fashion.
As the WNBA Draft approaches, Westbrook is ready to lend support to Amoore, demonstrating that even as the playoffs near for the NBA, his impact extends far into the world of women’s sports.
