Ryan Dunn, the 21-year-old American professional basketball player, has been making waves in his early days with the Phoenix Suns. Drafted by the Denver Nuggets with the 28th overall pick in the 2024 NBA draft, Dunn was immediately traded to the Phoenix Suns on draft night along with several future draft picks.

Dunn made his NBA debut on October 23, 2024, in the Suns’ 116–113 overtime win over the Los Angeles Clippers, contributing two points, two rebounds, a steal, and a block in nearly nine minutes of play. Just three days later, he made his first start for the Suns due to an injury to Bradley Beal, scoring a season-high 13 points in a 114–102 win over the Dallas Mavericks.

Before joining the NBA, Dunn played college basketball for the Virginia Cavaliers. He was a key player during his sophomore year, averaging 8.1 points, 6.9 rebounds, 2.3 blocks, and 1.3 steals per game. His defensive prowess earned him a spot on the ACC All-Defensive Team and an ACC All-Honorable Mention Team in 2024.

Dunn’s high school career was marked by his time at Long Island Lutheran High School and a postgraduate year at the Perkiomen School in Pennsylvania. He was rated a four-star recruit and had offers from several top colleges before committing to Virginia.

As the younger brother of Major League Baseball pitcher Justin Dunn, Ryan Dunn is quickly establishing himself as a promising young talent in the NBA. His early performances have garnered significant attention and excitement among Suns fans and basketball enthusiasts alike.
