Sai Kishore Shines with 2/22 Against RCB in IPL 2025

BENGALURU, India — Gujarat Titans spinner Sai Kishore delivered a stellar performance against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) on April 2, 2025, in Match 14 of the IPL 2025 season, finishing with impressive figures of 2/22 in his four overs.
The match, held at Chinnaswamy Stadium, saw RCB struggle early, collapsing to 42/4 before Jitesh Sharma entered the crease. Sharma played a vital role in stabilizing the innings, scoring a brisk 33 off just 21 balls, including five fours and a six, before falling to Kishore in the 13th over.
Kishore’s ability to read batsmen was evident as he outfoxed Sharma, who was caught attempting a big shot while dancing down the track. “He [Jitesh] made a positive contribution, but it was crucial for us to dismiss him at that point,” Kishore said after the match.
This marks Kishore’s second wicket of Sharma in IPL history. According to ESPNcricinfo, Sharma has faced Kishore eight times across two innings, accumulating only 12 runs at a strike rate of 150, emphasizing Kishore’s effectiveness against him.
In a match with several tight spots, Kishore’s carrom ball proving too much for Krunal Pandya. The southpaw misjudged the delivery, ultimately caught off his own bat. Kishore’s spell was punctuated by 11 dot balls, showcasing his control and accuracy.
With this effort, Kishore improved his overall IPL statistics to 19 wickets in 13 matches at an average of 18.26 and an economy rate of 8.06. In the broader context of T20 cricket, he boasts 86 wickets from 73 matches at an average of 18.27 and economy of 5.98.
Kishore’s continued success as a key player for the Titans indicates a promising future as they aim for the IPL title this season.
