Sai Sudharsan Takes the Lead in IPL 2025 Batting Race

Jaipur, India – Sai Sudharsan emerged as the leader in the batting charts of the 2025 Indian Premier League with 456 runs. He seized the top spot from Virat Kohli during a recent match between the Gujarat Titans and Rajasthan Royals.

In an intense competition for the Orange Cap, Kohli had just surpassed Suryakumar Yadav‘s tally of 427 runs shortly before Sudharsan’s achievement. Sudharsan, who made his IPL debut in 2022, has become an essential player for the Gujarat franchise. Last season, he scored 527 runs with an average of 47.91, and he is on track to exceed that mark this year.

This season has seen Sudharsan already rack up five half-centuries, with his highest score being 82 against Rajasthan Royals in Ahmedabad. Meanwhile, his teammate, Jos Buttler, is also a contender for the coveted Orange Cap. Buttler, who won the award in 2022, currently holds the fourth position with 406 runs.
