Saints’ Reid Emphasizes Team Culture Under Coach Kellen Moore

NEW ORLEANS, LA — Justin Reid, safety for the New Orleans Saints, praised the team’s new culture under Head Coach Kellen Moore after a Super Bowl-winning season. Reid believes that Moore’s leadership is key to building a competitive roster moving forward.
Reid, who played in Super Bowl LIX, noted that Moore is instilling a winning mentality throughout the organization. ‘First and foremost, it’s culture over everything,’ he said. ‘The culture that’s built here and Coach Kellen, they just won the Super Bowl last year with Philly. He brought his strength staff over, and a lot of those guys are familiar with winning.’
During a recent interview, Reid shared his experience with various teams. ‘I’ve been on mediocre teams, I’ve been on bad teams, I’ve been on great teams. And the culture in this locker room is right right now,’ he added. ‘We’ve got guys that believe in the system, that buy in. We don’t have bad character guys, and that’s the first step that you need in order to build a real team.’
Reid mentioned that Moore has set high standards at Organized Team Activities (OTAs), which he appreciates. ‘You can feel it immediately. Day one of OTAs, they ran it like a college program with the amount of conditioning and attention to detail,’ Reid explained. ‘But I kind of like things that way. It feels more true to the sport.’
While the Saints are developing a strong culture, Reid acknowledged that building a Super Bowl-caliber roster may take time. Despite the challenges posed by salary cap issues, he remains optimistic about the team’s direction. ‘We’re on the right track,’ he said.
