Saints Try Out Former Ravens Kicker Justin Tucker Amid Controversy

METAIRIE, La. — The New Orleans Saints are bringing in former Baltimore Ravens kicker Justin Tucker for a tryout on Tuesday, head coach Kellen Moore confirmed on Monday.

This will mark Tucker’s first tryout since serving a 10-game suspension for violating the NFL‘s personal conduct policy. The suspension began at the start of the current season, following allegations made by 16 massage therapists about inappropriate behavior during his time in Baltimore.

Tucker, now 36, has repeatedly denied these allegations, describing them as “unequivocally false” in a social media post last spring. His suspension ended on November 11, making him eligible to join a new team.

<p"Just like a lot of players, there's a field component of this thing. You want to get to know the people and maybe understand their circumstances," Moore stated regarding Tucker's potential return. "He's served that suspension, and obviously, there's some information to collect. Our personnel group will do a really good job collecting this information as we go through the process.”

During his 13 seasons with the Ravens, Tucker emerged as one of the most accurate kickers in NFL history, boasting an 89% field goal success rate while also being a seven-time Pro Bowler and five-time first-team All-Pro. Last season, he had a career-low kicking percentage of 73.3% and was released in May 2025.

Moore praised Tucker’s accomplishments but emphasized the importance of thorough evaluations during the tryout. “He’s been a really good kicker in this league for a very long time. There’s been stuff that’s been unfortunate, but we’ll evaluate the football aspect of it along with everything else,” he said.

The Saints are exploring options for a new kicker after Blake Grupe missed two field goals against the Atlanta Falcons, bringing his total for the season to eight missed attempts. Grupe is struggling with a 69.2% success rate this year.

In addition to Tucker, the Saints are also evaluating former Bengals kicker Cade York, who is scheduled for a tryout.
