S.J. Rithika, the talented off-spinner from Salem, showcased her remarkable bowling skills to help her team claim a thrilling victory against Coimbatore in the second round of the TNCA inter-district 30-over women’s cricket tournament at Tuticorin.

In this exciting contest, Salem managed to post a total of 138/8 in their allocated 30 overs. R. Abarna led the batting charge with an impressive knock of 85. However, the bowlers from Coimbatore, B. Shree Swagatha and N. Natasha, put up a good fight, taking three wickets each.

As Coimbatore began their chase, they struggled to build substantial partnerships and eventually crumbled for a total of 99 runs in just 22 overs. The main architect of their downfall was none other than S.J. Rithika, who produced an exceptional spell of bowling, claiming six wickets for a meager 11 runs.

With Rithika’s sensational performance, Salem secured a commendable 39-run victory and continued their winning streak in the tournament.

In other matches, Dindigul registered an impressive win against Thiruvarur with K.S. Jai Shiva Shree scoring a brilliant 81 runs. Chengalpattu overpowered Krishnagiri thanks to Neha Yuvaraj’s unbeaten 75 runs. In another low-scoring encounter, Tiruchirappalli comfortably defeated Thanjavur by nine wickets. Tirunelveli emerged victorious against Sivagangai, with S. Nagaraji impressing with three wickets. Namakkal cruised to a comfortable win against Thoothukudi, while Madurai triumphed over Karur in a closely fought contest. Ranipet emerged victorious against Thiruvallur with S. Rinaaz leading the way with an unbeaten 65 runs.
