San Jose Earthquakes Overcome Colorado Rapids 2-0 in MLS Match

COMMERCE CITY, Colorado — The San Jose Earthquakes defeated the Colorado Rapids 2-0 in an MLS match on Saturday night at DICK'S Sporting Goods Park.
San Jose opened the scoring in the first half with a goal from DeJuan Jones in the 46th minute. He struck a right-footed shot from the center of the box into the bottom right corner, assisted by Vítor Costa.
The Earthquakes doubled their lead in the second half. Cristian Arango scored a right-footed shot from the center of the box to the center of the goal in the 66th minute, sealing the victory for San Jose.
Colorado Rapids struggled to capitalize on their chances, with Cole Bassett coming close multiple times. He had a notable shot saved in the final minutes of the match. “We had our opportunities, but we just couldn’t finish,” said Bassett following the game.
The Rapids controlled 48.8% of the possession and had several attempts at goal, but they could not get on the scoreboard. In comparison, San Jose made good use of their chances, reflecting their stronger offensive play throughout the match.
