Liga Mx San Luis Vs Necaxa Match 2024

SAN LUIS POTOSÍ, Mexico — San Luis and Necaxa will face off Friday night at Estadio Alfonso Lastras Ramírez in a pivotal Liga MX match, with both teams aiming to secure three points to stay competitive in the early stages of the Clausura 2025 season.

San Luis, led by Spanish coach Domenec Torrent, enters the match with one win and one loss. After a 1-3 defeat to Tigres in their opener, the team bounced back with a 2-1 victory over Puebla, thanks to goals from French midfielder Sébastien Salles-Lamonge and Brazilian Rodrigo Dourado. San Luis has historically dominated Necaxa at home, including a 4-0 victory in the Apertura 2023-2024 season.

Necaxa, meanwhile, has also started the season with a win and a loss. Following a 2-1 loss to Pumas in their debut, the team showcased resilience with a 3-2 home victory against Chivas. However, Necaxa’s away record remains a concern, as they have not won in their last 11 Liga MX matches on the road, including four consecutive losses. Their last away victory came on April 6, 2023, against Tijuana.

San Luis currently sits in the top six, aiming to replicate their strong performance from the Apertura 2024, where they secured 30 points with nine wins, three draws, and five losses. Necaxa, on the other hand, finished 13th in the previous tournament, with only three wins, six draws, and eight losses, totaling 15 points.

The match kicks off at 7:00 p.m. local time, with both teams eager to gain momentum early in the season. Necaxa will rely on key players like Pável Pérez, Tomás Badaloni, and Sapúl Monreal, who scored in their recent win against Chivas.

In other Liga MX action, Toluca will visit Mazatlán at 9:00 p.m., while Tijuana hosts Querétaro in a bid for their first win of the season. Toluca, under coach Antonio Mohamed, seeks to build on their strong start, having earned four points from their first two matches. Mazatlán, led by Víctor Manuel Vucetich, is still searching for their first victory after a draw and a loss.

Querétaro, fresh off a surprising 3-2 win over Pumas, will look to continue their momentum against Tijuana, who are yet to secure a win this season.
